01 / About

A few things about me
I'm Tharul Thenuwara, from Sri Lanka. I like building software, designing things and working out how stuff actually works.
It started with games, then turned into an interest in rendering, web development, filmmaking, music and the machinery behind it all.
This isn't a résumé. It's more of a record: things I've built, things I've tried, and a few things I might come back to.
Short history
| When | What happened |
|---|---|

| 2024 | Started exploring the idea of developing my own rendering framework, TORF. |
| 2025 | Documented early TORF experiments and kept exploring music and interactive storytelling. |
| 2026 | Building ORYVEK and still collecting new ideas. |
This timeline is adapted from my original Neocities archive.
02 / Why I build
Build, don't just consume.
I like knowing how the tools I use are made. Sometimes that means going further down the stack than strictly necessary.
I want to build useful software, make distinctive work, and leave room for experiments that don't need a business case.
Not every experiment becomes a finished product. That's normal. The interesting part is finding out why.
“Tout Défier” — challenge everything.
