Privacy policy

This is a personal website run by Tharul Thenuwara. You can browse its public pages without creating an account. If you have a privacy question or request, write to hello@oryvek.com and put “Privacy request” in the subject line.

1. Information you choose to send

The guestbook does not publish or save messages on the website. Its button asks your email application to prepare a message to hello@oryvek.com. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it from your email application. If you email or message me, I receive the details you provide, which can include your name, email address, message, and contact information. I use them to respond to you and manage correspondence.

2. Information processed when you visit

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, and website security. As with ordinary web hosting, Cloudflare can process technical request data, such as IP addresses, request URLs, timestamps, device/browser information, and security-related signals. Cloudflare may process data in other countries. Its practices are described in Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

3. Browser storage, cookies and analytics

The files in this website do not install advertising trackers, analytics beacons, or a custom visitor counter. The gallery loads images from this site's own files. The site does not deliberately place tracking cookies. Cloudflare or your browser may use technical storage or security mechanisms outside these site scripts. If analytics or embedded services are added later, this policy should be updated before they are enabled.

4. Why information is used

Information is used to deliver the website, protect it from abuse, respond to messages, and maintain ordinary technical operations. Any handling of personal data should follow applicable law. I do not use information from this personal website to sell visitor profiles or run targeted advertising.

5. Disclosure and third-party websites

Hosting and security information may be processed by Cloudflare. Messages sent by email are handled by the relevant email providers. Clicking an external link, including links to ORYVEK, CERN, NCSA, Instagram or YouTube, opens a different service with its own privacy practices. The links are not third-party embeds in this website.

6. Retention and security

No public guestbook database or visitor-tracking database is operated by this site. Messages received directly are kept for as long as reasonably needed for the conversation, legitimate record-keeping, or applicable legal obligations, and should be reviewed and deleted when no longer needed, subject to email-provider retention and applicable legal requirements. Technical logs, where available, are controlled in part by Cloudflare's services and settings. Reasonable steps are taken to protect information, but no online system can promise absolute security.

7. Your choices and requests

You can browse without contacting me, decline to send an email draft, or ask to access, correct, or delete personal information I've received from you, subject to applicable laws and legitimate retention needs. Contact hello@oryvek.com. I may need enough information to confirm that the request relates to you.

8. Children and public content

This website is intended for general audiences and does not intentionally ask children to create accounts or submit personal information. Please do not include confidential, sensitive, or another person's private information in messages without permission.

9. Updates

This policy may change when the website's features, hosting settings, or applicable legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when there is a material revision.
